On Thursday, Pentagon officials reported that a Chinese spy balloon had been floating in the north of the country for a few days, after a brief stint… in Canada!
A Pentagon spokesman said he was very confident that the ball in question belonged to the People’s Republic of China. For the last two days, the ball has been flying over specific locations to obtain information.

According to the Pentagon, the balloon was seen over Montana, where one of the three U.S. nuclear missile silos is located, at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
U.S. President Joe Biden wanted his military to shoot down the balloon, but his military leaders have strongly advised against doing anything that could endanger many civilians.
Patrick Ryder, the Pentagon spokesman, actually filed an update about the Chinese balloon.
