Viral photo of a snow leopard wins it all

A very striking photo of a snowleopard gazing at mountains in India has won the People’s Choice Wildlife Photographer Award.

No less than 60,466 people voted for this spectacular photo named World of the snow leopard taken by the German photographer Sascha Fonseca, who won this prestigious contest.

To capture this rarely captured big cat, where he is seen watching the sunset in front of the mountains of Ladakh, Fonseca used a “camera trap”.

The Natural History Museum in London received no less than 39,000 entries, to select 25 finalists, and then to allow the public to choose THE picture.

As a result, the snow leopard will be on display at Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the museum through July 2.

Only 6500 adult snow leopards living in the forests as their existence is threatened due to poaching.
