Customer tips $2000 for fried chicken dinner

A diner left a $2,000 tip after enjoying a fried chicken dinner at Blue 44 restaurant in Northwest Washington.

A customer left a $2,000 tip after enjoying a fried chicken dinner.

An unidentified man added the hefty sum onto his $93 bill at the Blue 44 restaurant in north west Washington after wolfing down a meal of fried chicken, gumbo and Old Chub Scotch Ale with a friend.

The generous tip wasn’t noticed by bar staff right away until tender Laura Dally noticed the extra amount and instructions on how to divide it along with a thank you message.

The note read, ”Thank you for the gumbo” and stipulated that the tip was to be divided between Laura, owner Christofer Nardelli, with half going to chef James Turner.

Christofer told the Washington Post: ”This is the kind of stuff you see in the restaurant business that happens to some guy in the Midwest or the West Coast.

”You think, who are these people who give these extraordinarily generous tips that just made a server or bartender’s day? And then sure enough, it happened to us.”
