Anna Kendrick started swearing so people would take her seriously.
The ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ actress made a conscious decision to use foul language when she got to 18 because she looked so young for her age that people in her professional and personal life treated her like a kid.
She said: ”My whole life I’ve been trying to convince people to take me seriously; looking like I was 10 when I was 18 made it more difficult. Using a combination of well-constructed conversation pieces then a handful of curses so that they knew I wasn’t just a precious 10 year old is a big part of it.”
Anna insists her parents didn’t mind when she added the dirty dictionary to her speech because her family all curse.
In an interview with Stylist magazine, she said: ”When I was very young I got into trouble but then I think my parents were so tired of having to hold it in themselves that we just became one of those families that cursed all the time.”
Although Anna’s parents Janice and William don’t mind her swearing, the 29-year-old star claims her mother would admonish her for being a pretentious actress.
She said: ”I think my family would only roll their eyes at an interview I said something pretentious. If I said something about ‘the craft’ my mum would be like, ‘Oh for f**k’s sake!’ ”
