Cash prize offered for Loch Ness Monster selfie

A selfie with the Loch Ness Monster is worth £50,000.

The cash prize has been offered by the annual Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, but people are only eligible for the money if they’re taking part in the event.

Malcom Sutherland – the race director – said the idea stemmed from observing the number of participants who stop to take pictures.

He said:  »With so many selfies being taken on race day, surely if she is out there someone will be able to get one with her in the background. »

All Nessie selfies taken during the event will be sent to an expert panel at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, who will judge its authenticity.
