Rihanna relates to her ”fearless” character in the her new film ‘Home’.

The 27-year-old singer – who stars as Tip, a teenage girl who searches for her mother after her planet is invaded by aliens in the new Dreamworks animation – has admitted she sees aspects of herself in the children’s character.

She said: ”She definitely reminds me of myself. She’s sassy, she’s fearless but she’s very adventurous.

”She’s brave enough go out on that adventure. And she’s determined to get what she wants. In this case she’s determined to find her mother.”

The ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker believes the ”accessible” and ”real” character also makes her relatable to her young audience.

She told Italian newspaper La Repubblica: ”Throughout the entire film that’s the mission behind the journey, to find her mum. And I love that and I love her personality. I love everything about her. She’s real, she’s accessible, she wears hoodies. And that’s me all day.”

Rihanna added she enjoys being a positive role model to youngsters and wants to encourage them to love themselves.

She explained: ”It’s important for me to be myself. I have to accept that everybody is here to.. for their own purpose and you know my only thing is to find myself and live my life from my heart and from my soul. And that’s the message that I want little girls to get from me. I want them to know that that’s the only way they’ll only really be happy and love themselves. To just be themselves.”
