Kelly Clarkson: Life couldn’t be better

Kelly Clarkson does a lot of charity work because feels so lucky to have everything she wants in life.

Kelly Clarkson says her life ”couldn’t be better”.

The ‘Heartbeat Song’ hitmaker, who has daughter River, seven, with husband Brandon Blackstock, and stepchildren, Savannah, 13, and Seth, eight, admits she does a lot of charity work because she feels so lucky to have everything she wants in life.

She said: ”I’m considerably blessed in my life. I’m married now, I have three kids and my career and everything – it’s awesome. My life couldn’t be better. But you just pause and go, ‘Why wouldn’t you want to give back? Why wouldn’t you want to help out when you have so much spotlight to share?’ ”

The 32-year-old star claims she was ”very much an outsider” when she was growing up and visits hospitals with the organisation Musicians on Call every Christmas to sing because music saved her.

She added to PEOPLE magazine: ”When my friend said that he works with this group called Musicians on Call I had to go find out what it was about. So I met them, and I now go [as part of MOC to visit patients] at Christmas time.

”I love it because the music is just such a nostalgic thing. We do a mini Christmas show for them, and then my guitarist and I go around to each room singing to the kids who can’t come see the performance.

”Music has such an influence on our emotions, and it aids in recovery. It’s powerful. It’s kind of a healthy little elixir for everyone. And I can relate to it; I was very much an outsider as a kid, and music kind of saved me. ”
