Charli XCX and Rita Ora crashed a house party.

The ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ hitmaker features on the 22-year-old singer’s new track ‘Doing It’, and Charli revealed they became acquainted when they both wore odd outfits to a bash in Chicago.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz before her MTV Brand New performance in London – presented by Emporio Armani Diamonds – she explained: ”We had a weird night out where we went to this really strange house party in Chicago, that was … I think everyone there was like 19 or 18. Rita just rocked up in this floor-length blue fur coat – and it was snowing – and hot pants, and I was wearing a beret. I looked like a private detective.”

The ‘Boom Clap’ singer confessed things got even stranger when they entered the party because they stayed in the kitchen all night and played tracks from London’s grime music scene, much to the confusion of the other guests.

She continued: ”We kind of just took over the kitchen and kept playing grime [music] and everyone was just like, ‘What is going on?’ and it was just weird. It was like a weird, fun, strange night.”

Now the pair have got to know each other, Charli has nothing but praise for the 24-year-old performer and finds it nice to know someone who she shares similar life experiences with as a pop star.

She added: ”I have so much love for her. She’s just, yeah, when we’re together it’s great because she’s crazy and I feel like I can sometimes go down that road too. So it’s nice, and it’s nice to have someone who’s from the UK, and be kind of like, two British weirdos together. She’s great, I really have a lot of love for Rita, she’s a fun girl.”
