A grandad has grown a 1000lb pumpkin.
Mal Carter, 50, from Middlesbrough in the north-east of England grew the enormous fruit in a polytunnel close to his home, reports Mirror.co.uk.
The pumpkin – which weighs in at 1,025lbs (465kg), more than five baby elephants – has already won Mal £500 after he took home the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth plaque at the York Maze Halloween Festival.
The food – traditionally used for Halloween decorations – even required a crane to transport it to the contest which took place over the weekend.
