Joanna Lumley has opened a ‘Little Shwop of Horrors’.

The former ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ actress launched the petrifying pop-up shop yesterday (28.10.14) at the Marks and Spencer Marble Arch store in London where a host of celebrity’s have donated their unwanted gear for punters to purchase in order to raise money for Oxfam.

The 68-year-old star was joined by fashion writer Angela Scanlon to welcome customers into the store, encouraging them to donate their own unwanted items as they scoured the shelves for spooky cast-offs provided by stars including Jessie J, Nadine Coyle, Naomi Harris, Jools Holland, Sophie Dahl and Simon Pegg, just in time for Halloween.

Joanna explained: ”Everyone has experienced a fashion nightmare at some point in their lives, outside of the intentional fancy dress outfit, and the ghosts of these frights from the past tend to lurk in the back of our wardrobes, never to see the light of day again unless they get thrown away. No clothing, or fancy dress item, no matter how scary, should end up in landfill and harm the environment. What you may not want anymore, might be someone else’s treasure.

” So as All Hallows Eve approaches this week, dig deep into the back of the wardrobe, get that box from the cellar and head down to the Little Shwop of Horrors where you could pick up the perfect item to create the outfit of your dreams, or nightmares!”

The store have also teamed up with stylist Grace Woodward who has offered customers exciting ideas for creating their own Halloween costumes from old clothing items and charity shop bargains.

Marks & Spencer’s Little Shwop of Horrors has collaborated with Oxfam as part of its Plan A programme, which aims to give clothes an afterlife of their own.

The Little Shwop of Horrors Boutique opened yesterday (28.10.14) and closes today (29.10.14) at 9pm.
