Katie Couric loves married life

Katie Couric and John Molner, who married four months ago, are still in the ”honeymoon period” of their relationship.

Katie Couric finds married life ”really fun”.

The 57-year-old talk show host tied the knot with John Molner in an intimate ceremony at their home in East Hampton, New York in June and she says they are still in the honeymoon period.

She told People magazine: ”Married life is great. It’s fun. He’s really funny and really fun to be with. I love being with him.

”The honeymoon isn’t over yet, so it’s nice.”

The couple got engaged in September 2013 after two years of dating and the former ‘Today’ host previously admitted she was confused when John popped the question.

She said: ”He said that there was a reason he’d brought me there to the beach, and that he loved me and was committed to me, and I said, ‘Yeah, I know that, you didn’t have to bring me here to tell me that.’

”Finally he said, ‘Couric, I’m trying to propose to you,’ and I was stunned.”

Explaining how she responded, she laughed: ”It took me a while to say yes, because I was so confused! It took a long time for my brain to process what was going on.”

Katie was previously married to Jay Monahan – the father of her daughters Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 17 – but she was widowed when he tragically died from colon cancer in 1998 at the age of 42.
