Jennifer Love Hewitt ready to work

Jennifer Love Hewitt is happy to be returning to work.

The 35-year-old actress, who welcomed her first child, Autumn, with husband Brian Hallisay into the world last November, is set to play a psychologist on the upcoming season of ‘Criminal Minds’ and admits she couldn’t resist accepting the role, especially because all the focus won’t be on her..

She said: ”It’s nice being part of an ensemble because the show isn’t riding on my shoulders. I go to work, kick some butt and then go to bed.”

Asked if she’s ready to juggle motherhood and her career, she said: ”It will be touch-and-go for a while. My baby’s adjusting. But I’m happy.

”We call her the ‘Happy Buddha.’ She’s so joyful. She makes life exciting.”

Jennifer is looking forward to getting back into a steady routine after a ”whirlwind” few years.

She told Us Weekly magazine: ”The past few years have been a whirlwind. Losing my mom [in 2012] was shocking, then meeting the love of my life and having a baby… it all hit at once.”

The brunette beauty is besotted with her daughter, but admits she was often terrified during her pregnancy.

She explained: ”For nine months you’re terrified. And there are mornings where you’re like, I’m not going to get through the day. But you wake up and do it again. It’s great.”
