Jennifer Hudson’s hopes for new album JHUD

Jennifer Hudson hopes her new album JHUD will be a ”reflection” of herself and help her fans get to know the real her better.

Jennifer Hudson hopes her new album will give her fans new insight into her life.

The 33-year-old singer believes her third studio album, ‘JHUD’, is a ”reflection” of true herself and she is excited about people listening to it.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: ”A part of my dream was for my fans to know me. You should have a sense of who you’re following.

”I don’t feel like anything in the album was forced – it’s a reflection of me as a person, as a music lover, as a songwriter.

”There are a lot of different elements of J.Hud or Jennifer in there, which is what I’m introducing everyone to.”

For the new album, Jennifer worked alongside several top music artists including R. Kelly, Iggy Azalea and T.I., who all appear on the LP as well as top producers such as Pharrell Williams and Timbaland.

Meanwhile, the ‘Spotlight’ hitmaker – whose album features a mixture of upbeat tracks and slower ballads – has revealed she took inspiration for her music videos and lyrics from her own experiences.

The video for the track which she released as her second single off the album, ‘Walk It Out’, was based around the neighbourhood in which she grew up.

Jennifer said: ”Everything about that song reminds me of growing up in the Englewood area, and the boys in the playground playing basketball, trying to flirt with the girl that’s walking to the candy store.

”I wanted to revisit that, and it’s part of my background.”
