Aaron Paul has joined the cast of ‘The 9th Life of Louis Drax’.

The 35-year-old actor is to star alongside male model and ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star Jamie Dornan in Miramax’s upcoming supernatural thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The ‘Breaking Bad’ star will play the titular character’s father, who becomes the target of a criminal investigation when his son suffers a near-fatal accident.

The film is based on Liz Jensen’s best-selling novel of the same name and the story begins on Louis Drax’s ninth birthday, when a lifetime of curious mishaps conclude with a near-fatal fall.

Dornan’s character, Dr. Allan Pascal, will be drawn into the thrilling mystery that tests the boundaries of fantasy and reality as he becomes desperate to reveal the strange circumstances behind the accident.

Alexandre Aja is to direct the project from a screenplay written by Max Minghella while AntColony Films and Brightlight Pictures are to produce.

Following on from his success as crystal meth dealer Jesse Pinkman in hit AMC series ‘Breaking Bad’, Paul has recently starred in ‘Need for Speed’ and will next appear in ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ opposite Christian Bale.
