Noel Fisher thought Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a dream

Noel Fisher has revealed he thought he was dreaming when he was offered the role of Michelangelo in the upcoming film remake of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’.

Noel Fisher thought he was dreaming when he was offered a role in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’.

The ‘Shameless’ star stars as mutant warrior turtle Michelangelo in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the comic book and cartoon series and he claims he was such a big fan when he was growing up that he couldn’t believe his luck when he landed the role.

Quizzed on how he celebrated the news, he said: ”Oh, wow. For me, I was a big Turtles fan growing up. I had all the toys and everything, so for me, it was really just kind of that unreal moment where you’re not quite sure you’re dreaming.”

While the 30-year-old actor is to play Michelangelo, ‘Jackass’ star Johnny Knoxville plays Leonardo, Alan Ritchson takes on the role of Raphael and Jeremy Howard portrays Donatello, but Fisher admits his character was always his favourite of the four turtles.

When asked which turtle he liked the most when he was a kid, Fisher told Collider: ”I really loved Michelangelo. I’ve always been a little partial to Donatello to be honest, especially with the animated series, there’s just something about Donnie that I really like.

”But, you know, Mike’s also Mikey. It’s kind of just a given he’s the most fun one.”

‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ – which is directed by Wrath of the Titans’ Jonathan Liebesman – is set for worldwide release in October 2014.
