Angelina Jolie to be ‘selective’ about acting roles

Angelina Jolie plans to be more ”selective” with the acting roles she accepts and wants to spend more time ”writing and directing”.

Angelina Jolie plans to step away from acting.

The ‘Maleficent’ actress, who plays the titular villain in the upcoming adaptation of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, will be more ”selective” about the roles she accepts and is hoping to spend more time ”writing and directing”.

Talking at a press conference for the Disney film, the 38-year-old actress explained: ”It’s going to take more of a back seat.

”I’ve had a wonderful career … I’m sure there will be a few more films, but I am happy that I am able to be more selective and have fun with roles like this – but I would like to focus more on writing and directing and above all, I would like to focus more on my work with the UN and the PSBI.”

Jolie – who raises Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Vivienne and Knox, five, with fiance Brad Pitt – says her children are a fan of the voice she uses for the evil fairy and they make her use it at home.

She added: ”My children love Maleficent’s voice, so they always make me do it at home. I think it really brought out the child in me, being part of this film.”
