Jonah Hill’s new movie written by Billy Ray

Jonah Hill’s new movie will be written by Oscar-nominated ‘Capitan Phillips’ screenwriter Billy Ray.

Jonah Hill’s new movie will be written by Oscar-nominated ‘Capitan Phillips’ screenwriter Billy Ray.

Ray will pen the script for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing drama ‘The Ballad of Richard Jewell’, which is based on Marie Brenner’s article in Vanity Fair, and the film will also feature Leonardo DiCaprio.

DiCaprio and Hill will be reunited after receiving Oscar nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for their performances in Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ last week.

According to Variety, DiCaprio will produce with Jennifer Davisson Killoran through his Appian Way banner, along with Kevin Misher who discovered the article.

The Vanity Fair feature tells the story of a security guard who reported on the knapsack bomb at the 1996 summer Olympics and helped clear witnesses – only to find himself suspected of being involved in the terrorism plot.

Hill will play Jewell in the movie, while DiCaprio will take on the role of the lawyer out to clear his name.

Ray won the Writers Guild of America’s adapted screenplay award last month for ‘Captain Phillips’, starring Tom Hanks, and he also wrote the hugely successful film, ‘The Hunger Games’.
