Duchess Catherine visits Place2Be charity

Britain’s Duchess Catherine is attending a Place2Be charity event today (11.20.13).

The hardworking royal’s second official engagement in as many days will see her meeting with experts at a forum held by the children’s mental health charity in London’s Canary Wharf.

The 31-year-old beauty, who became patron of school-based organisation Place2Be in April, will listen to guest speakers at the ‘Resilience and Emotional Strength in Schools Forum’ event discussing serious issues like cyber bullying and self-harm, the Daily Mirror is reporting.

Psychologist Professor Tanya Byron will talk about how youngsters can stay safe while surfing the internet, while King’s College London’s Professor Stephen Scott from is due to give advice for parents about raising well-balanced children.

Following the speeches held at law firm Clifford Chance’s offices, Catherine will also meet with a series of experts on children’s issues.

Place2Be works with over 200 schools in some of the UK’s most deprived areas to help children who have experienced bullying, bereavement and family problems.

Catherine also became patron of SportsAid and The Natural History Museum in April, a first for the star who hadn’t accepted any offers until then since her wedding to Prince William in April 2011.

She has since been actively carrying out public engagements on their behalf in the hopes of raising more awareness and funds for the three causes.
