Britain’s Prince Charles is the ”most difficult person” to buy presents for.
The Prince of Wales celebrates his 65th birthday today (11.14.13) – making him eligible to receive pension – and his wife Duchess Camilla has joked that she finds it impossible to pick gifts for him.
She is quoted by the Daily Telegraph newspaper as saying: ”I have bought him something. I will tell you that he is the most difficult person in the world to buy a present for.
”He is a man … they are hopeless! I spend ages trying to find something that is really wonderful and then [mimes him opening a present] ‘Oh, thank you very much’ [in a completely uninterested voice]. It so annoying!”
Camilla was speaking to reporters during the couple’s trip to India this week and gave one of her most personal interviews to date about her relationship with Charles, whom she married in 2005.
The duchess revealed that the fussy royal has even resorted to giving her a list of potential birthday gifts so she can get it ”exactly right”.
She said: ”I find this time of year impossible as it’s his birthday and then it’s Christmas, so you have got two in a row. Everybody else is easy but he is not.”
