Lisa Kudrow had nose job aged 16

Lisa Kudrow had a ”life altering” nose job at the age of 16 and found the experience allowed her to start a new school feeling more confident without having to worry about her self-perceived ”hideous” appearance.

Lisa Kudrow had a ”life altering” nose job aged 16.

The 50-year-old actress found the surgery was a ”great change” as it allowed her to start at a new school feeling more confident without having to worry about the ”hideous” appearance she believed she had.

Lisa told The Saturday Evening Post: ”That was life altering. I went from, in my mind, hideous to not hideous. I did it the summer before going to a new high school. So there were plenty of people who wouldn’t know how hideous I looked before. That was a good, good, good change.”

The blonde beauty turned to surgery after her pals ditched her and decided they didn’t want to be friends with her.

She explained: ”That happened in the seventh grade when we moved from sixth grade to a new school. So they knew some people, and I didn’t. Eventually they got tired of me being a tag-along. They said, ‘For your own good, you need to see what would happen if we weren’t’ here.’ It was brutal. Very hard.

”It was just mean. And all of junior high felt upside down to me.”

The star was catapulted into the spotlight as Phoebe Buffet in the sitcom ‘Friends’ and she likes that teenagers often feel they can relate to her quirky alter-ego.

She said: ”She [Phoebe] was basically a ditzy girl who lived in a happier reality than everybody else, because everything was so gloomy around her. That’s what I decided. And she was fearless and unapologetic. Now on Twitter or Facebook I see young girls saying, ‘I identify with Phoebe because I’m different too.’ That’s nice, to think that people who don’t feel they fit in perfectly well can relate to that character.”
