Prince George to get giant christening card

Prince George will receive a giant card from more than 5,000 Christians before his christening on Wednesday (23.10.13).

Prince George will receive a giant card from more than 5,000 Christians before his christening.

The three-month-old royal will be gifted with well wishes written in the card which will be delivered to St James’s Palace in London by Peter Kerridge, chief executive of Premier Christian Radio, before his baptism on Wednesday (23.10.13).

The card reads: ”God’s richest blessing on your christening day”, and has more than 5,000 email signatures so far.

Peter wanted to give George a warm welcome from worldwide followers of Christianity.

He said: ”As William and Kate make promises to bring Prince George up in the love of Jesus Christ, we know that Christians all over the country would want to send their blessings to the Royal Family on this special occasion, which is why we made it possible for them to sign up to our unique Christening card, featuring the special blessing.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace, instead of traditionally used Buckingham Palace as the venue for the ceremony.

The chapel at St James’s Palace is believed to be of significance to William as it is where he and his brother, Prince Harry, mourned the loss of their mother Princess Diana before her funeral in 1997.

Baby George will wear a replica of the traditional lace and satin gown worn by more than 60 royal babies as the original made by Janet Sutherland is too old and fragile for use.
