Ty Simpkins cast in ‘Jurassic World’

Ty Simpkins has been cast in ‘Jurassic World’ for the male lead and the film will be the fourth in the classic dinosaur adventure movie.

Ty Simpkins has been cast in ‘Jurassic World.’

The 12-year-old actor is set to take the male lead for the fourth film of the ‘Jurassic Park’ series according to Deadline.com.

Meanwhile, Bryce Dallas Howard – daughter of director Ron Howard – is in negotiations with director Colin Trevorrow for what is said to be the female lead.

Casting is thought to have taken longer than expected, as ‘Jurassic World’ was originally set for release in June 2014 but was delayed by Universal in order to allow more time to develop the film’s script.

Steven Spielberg’s original ‘Jurassic Park’ was released in 1993 to critical acclaim and spawned a 1997 sequel, ‘The Lost World’. Spielberg then gave up the director’s chair for a third film, ‘Jurassic Park III’ in 2001, which was helmed by Joe Johnston.

Trevorrow recently indicated he wants to introduce new dinosaurs to the movie’s prehistoric line-up, with it rumoured there will be underwater creatures in the new movie.

The director previously revealed Spielberg, who is still a producer on the franchise, has been a great source of support.

He said: ”It’s incredible to have Steven, who’s done this for decades and has such an incredible film knowledge and just understands the language of the story in a way that for us is very refreshing. It’s not like getting notes from a studio executive, it’s really just trying to crack this and make it the best it can be.”
