Eva Mendes felt pressure of clothing line

Eva Mendes says her sisters were depending on her to deliver a good fashion line.

The ‘Place Beyond the Pines’ actress revealed launching her first womenswear collection with fashion retailer New York & Company, which launched on Wednesday night (09.18.13), was a challenging experience.

The 39-year-old actress told Huffington Post:”The challenging part of this process was knowing that I had women, especially my sisters, counting on me to make them look good.”

Eva – who looked stunning in a chic monochrome ensemble for the launch party in New York City – insisted she would wear each item in her collection and is looking forward to hearing feedback from customers.

She said: ”I take this very seriously. There isn’t a piece in my collection that I won’t wear. I can’t wait to get feedback from women about what works for them and what doesn’t. I hope I don’t disappoint them!”

Meanwhile the brunette beauty says her collection was intended for women of all shapes and sizes as she wants women to feel confident in their clothes.

She previously told Lucky Magazine: ”My customer is not a fan of the way tabloids cover celebrity style, ‘Who wore it best.’ It’s disastrous for women’s self-esteem. With fashion, there is no right or wrong.”
