Britain’s Prince Harry has commended everyone taking part in the tenth annual Cycle 4 Cynthia event in Northamptonshire on Sunday (09.22.13) in a personally-signed letter as he is unable to attend.

Britain’s Prince Harry has commended everyone taking part in the tenth annual Cycle 4 Cynthia event in a personally-signed letter.

The prince was invited to this year’s challenge, which takes place at Althorp, Northamptonshire, on Sunday (09.22.13), but is unable to attend so instead sent a heart-felt note praising the success of the event, which has raised around £250,000 for the Friends of Cynthia Spencer House and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Harry also took the time to commend the riders, marshals and volunteers, before hinting that if he had been able to take part in the challenge he would have chosen the five-mile run instead of the 50-mile route.

Event chairman John Pinkham told the Northampton chronicle newspaper: ”We are obviously disappointed that Prince Harry cannot be with us but we hope his generous words go some way to showing all those taking part how much their support is valued.

”It’s a particularly fitting touch because our tenth anniversary ride promises to be the best yet and so it is great to have this Royal seal of approval.”

The letter will be on display at the start of the race on Sunday in a bid to spur on part takers.
