Prince William in first engagement since Prince George birth

Britain’s Prince William arrived at the Anglesey Show in Anglesey, north Wales, earlier this morning (14.08.13) in his first royal engagement since becoming a father to Prince George.

Britain’s Prince William has attended his first royal engagement since becoming a father.

The Duke of Cambridge – whose first child, Prince George, was born on July 22 – arrived at the Anglesey Show in Anglesey, north Wales, earlier this morning (14.08.13) and was in fine form as he met locals, joking he should have brought along his and Duchess Catherine’s pet pooch Lupo.

He quipped: ”I should have brought Lupo for the spaniel show.”

He then added: ”He would have just run off and never come back again. It would have been very embarrassing.”

William – who made his first public appearance at a charity polo match earlier this month – will meet local farmers and make a short speech at the agricultural show, where he will also watch falconry and gundog displays.

He is expected to use the event to say goodbye to the residents of the island – where he and Catherine moved to in January 2010 due to the prince being posted at nearby RAF Valley, where he works as an RAF search and rescue pilot – with the couple likely to move back to London permanently later this year.

More than 60,000 people are expected to attend the show today and as a result security has been increased.
