Jessica Simpson throws baby shower for best friend

Jessica Simpson threw a baby shower for her best friend on Sunday (06.02.13).

The singer Рwho is expecting her second child with fianc̩ Eric Johnson in July Рtook focus off her own pregnancy in order to throw her close pal CaCee Cobb a lavish party at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills.

CaCee, 35, appeared to be very grateful for the baby-themed bash, writing on Twitter: "Showered with so much love yesterday, Thank you @JessicaSimpson #bestfriends #bestbabyshowerever (sic)"

The pregnant pals, who are due to give birth just a month after one another, also posed for a picture showing off their growing bumps, with Jessica, 32, sporting a slimming black dress.

CaCee – who was the ‘Irresistible’ singer’s personal assistant for many years – is expecting her first child with ‘Scrubs’ actor Donald Faison, whom she wed in December 2012.

Meanwhile, Jessica and Eric will be adding to their brood just a year after welcoming daughter Maxwell into the world.

It’s thought the ‘Fashion Star’ judge – who became engaged to Eric in 2010 – is keen to tie the knot as soon as possible after giving birth as she fears she may fall pregnant again and be forced to cancel her wedding plans a third time, having previously nixed their nuptials because of the unexpected baby news.

A source said: [Jessica] was telling friends she wanted to get married a few months after the baby is born."
