Sir Paul McCartney was attacked by grasshoppers as he performed in Brazil on Tuesday (07.05.13).
The Beatles legend was playing one of the first shows in his Out There! Tour to a crowd of 47,000 in Goiana when some unwelcome visitors invaded the stage and settled on his shirt.
However, the 70-year-old singer took the creatures in his stride, and even introduced one of them as ‘Harold’ during a performance of ‘Hey Jude’.
As he performed the song, he also made a joke when he came to the line "The movement you need is on your shoulder," quipping "It certainly is now" in reference to the insect invasion.
The grasshoppers weren’t the only visitors to the stage during the show.
At one point, the singer invited a young woman from the crowd on to the stage to show off the Beatles tattoo on her ribcage, which he then signed.
The three-hour set saw Paul perform a number of tracks he rarely plays live, including ‘Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite’ and ‘Eight Days a Week’, a track he has performed live just once before, with The Beatles in 1965.
