Items from Isabella Blow’s private wardrobe are to feature in an exhibition at London’s Somerset House.
Over 100 quirky and flamboyant pieces from the late designer’s personal collection will be the focus of ‘Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore!’ at the iconic venue later this year, along with garments created by designers she discovered and supported on their way to success.
Close friend and artist Daphne Guinness, who owns the collection of clothes, told Stylist magazine: "The exhibition will be bittersweet. Showcasing her clothes is what she would have wanted. I hope her legacy continues to inspire generations of designers to come."
Blow’s inspirational outfit choices will be joined by ensembles from her close friends in the fashion industry.
The display – held in partnership with the Isabella Blow Foundation and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design – will also feature the work of Alexander McQueen and Philip Treacy, who designed Blow’s wedding dress.
Her aristocratic background will also be captured within the exhibition, exploring her youth growing up at Doddington Hall in Cheshire, North West England, to when she first struck up friendships with McQueen and Treacy.
Blow tragically committed suicide aged 47 in 2007 after years of battling depression and her foundation raises money to support aspiring artists and fashion students, as well as encouraging further research in the fields of depression and mental health.
The exhibition is scheduled to run from November 20 to March 2, 2014.
