Duchess of Cambridge spends anniversary apart from Duke

Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge spent her second wedding anniversary apart from Prince William.

The 31-year-old royal admitted her husband – who she wed in a lavish ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey two years ago – wasn’t able to treat her to a romantic celebration because he had to work yesterday evening (29.04.13).

During a visit to Naomi House children’s hospice in Hampshire yesterday, she was asked whether William was going to take her out for a meal to mark the landmark occasion.

Khalid Aziz, the Hospice Chairman, said: ”It’s especially special that you came here today because today is a very special day two years ago to the day, you were in a slightly larger building then this one – probably not having quite as much fun…

”I just hope Prince William is taking you somewhere nice tonight.”

Blushing, Catherine replied, ”Well, he’s on shift”, referring to his work as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot in North Wales.

The duchess nevertheless received a special gift to celebrate her anniversary, as she was presented with a lovingly-crafted picture of the Hungry Caterpillar made of cotton, the material which represents two years of marriage.

Catherine spent the day playing and chatting with the hospice’s young residents – who suffer from life-limiting conditions – and taking a tour of the facilities.
