Bookmakers have slashed odds of Prince William and Duchess Catherine naming their baby Alexandra.
A flurry of bets have been placed on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – who was known as Kate Middleton prior to the couple’s nuptials – calling their first child Alexandra, and Ladbrokes have cut their price to 2/1.
Coral were also ”inundated” with bets on William and Catherine – who hinted last month their little one, who is due in July, is a girl – choosing Alexandra, and have also reduced their odds.
Speaking yesterday (09.04.13), Coral’s Nicola McGeady said: ”This afternoon we have been inundated with bets on Alexandra.
”It’s the second biggest surge since we were forced to suspend betting on the couple having a girl.”
Elizabeth and Diana are both available at 5/1 with Ladbrokes, while George and Charles are the favourite boy monikers at 14/1.
Those who think the royal couple might plump for a more obscure moniker can get 250/1 on Chardonnay and 500/1 on Tulisa.
Catherine recently revealed the couple have a baby name shortlist and have been finding it ”very difficult” to agree on a moniker for a boy or a girl.
