Queen Elizabeth led members of the royal family in a traditional Easter service on Sunday (31.03.13).
The British monarch was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and their father, the Duke of York, for the service at St, George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex were also in attendance, with their nine-year-old daughter, Lady Louise Windsor.
The service was conducted by the Right Reverend David Conner, Dean of Windsor, and included hymns ‘A Brighter Dawn Is Breaking’ and ‘Jesus Christ is Risen Today’.
Five-year-old twins Holly and Poppy Alden were chosen to give flowers to the queen as she left church.
Poppy told the Daily Express newspaper: ”I said ‘happy Easter Your Majesty’ and did a curtsey.”
Her mother, Francesca, added: ”It’s something special for us and for the children. It will be a memory that they’ll keep.”
Another flower giver, seven-year-old Daniel Phillips, said: ”I gave her my flowers and she said ‘thank you very much’. I was nervous because she’s the Queen.”
The Queen and her husband Prince Philip also smiled at the gathered well-wishers as they left the castle by car.
