Family Guy to spoof Downton Abbey

‘Downton Abbey’ actor Brendan Coyle has revealed ‘Family Guy’ plan to reference the hit period drama in some forthcoming episodes.

‘Family Guy’ creators are planning to spoof ‘Downton Abbey’ in a number of episodes.

Writer Seth MacFarlane is a big fan of the British period drama and plans to incorporate some off the characters into his hit adult animation.

Brendan Coyle – who plays valet Mr. Bates in ‘Downton’ – said: "I was in LA recently – I must sound like I right t***er saying that – and I met the ‘Family Guy’ people.

"They’re going to reference ‘Downton Abbey’ in some of their episodes."

Brendan is delighted by the news and is thrilled with the show’s worldwide popularity.

He added to The Sun newspaper: "It just means you’re in a show that you can either enjoy or have a laugh about."

And though the 49-year-old actor has no plans to leave the drama just yet, he knows his time on the program won’t last forever.

He said: "I’m still on the ‘Downton’ train so I don’t know when I’m going to get off or get kicked off. However, it won’t go on forever – it has to stop somewhere."
