Selena Gomez’s celebrity friends help her cope with fame.
The 20-year-old brunette beauty – who dumped Justin Bieber in January after struggling to maintain a "normal" relationship – says her friends Emma Stone and Taylor Swift are the only people she can vent to about living in the spotlight despite cherishing the support of her childhood pals from Texas.
She told the April issue of Harper’s BAZAAR magazine: "It’s good to have both. It’s great to just pick up a phone and call Taylor and say, ‘I have people following me, and I’m having a bad day,’ but if I were to say that to someone else, it’s like, ‘Oh, boo hoo.’ But it’s nice to have people back home that grew up with me too."
Selena previously credited Taylor, 23, with helping her though her split from 19-year-old Justin after a tumultuous two year relationship.
She said: "Taylor is one of the most inspirational, positive, good-hearted people I know. I think she’s been a big part of me staying who I am, too.
"I’ve been through a lot in the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool."
The best friends never discuss their careers but instead talk about family or boyfriend issues.
She explained: "We have both experienced the same things at the same time … But we’ve never once talked about our industry.
"She just became the person I’d go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It’s so hard to trust girls, so I’m lucky to have her."
