Princess Anne visits Addiction Recovery Agency

Princess Anne met with patients at the Addiction Recovery Agency (ARA) in Bristol, Southern England, to mark its 25th anniversary.

Princess Anne has met with patients at a drug rehabilitation centre.

The Princess Royal made an official visit to The Addiction Recovery Agency (ARA) in Kings Court , Bristol, Southern England, to mark its 25th anniversary, which took place in January.

The centre helps more than 1,500 people a year through its services in Bristol and North Somerset and Chief Executive Peter Walker said the visit was a ”great acknowledgment” of their work.

Anne met some of the 60 staff and 60 volunteers who work at the centre, as well as unveiling a plaque marking her visit.

Peter explained: ”The visit recognizes with the kind of treatment and support that ARA has provided over the past 25 years, people can overcome problems associated with drugs, alcohol and gambling and go on to lead productive lives.”

The centre started off as a Recovery Cafe, set up in conjunction with St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol and has grown from there to offer a range of community drug and alcohol treatment services, as well as housing support.
