Leona Lewis splits from Modest! Management

Leona Lewis has become the latest musician to amicably split from her label Modest! Management, following the likes of Rebecca Ferguson and Alexandre Burke, and is now hoping to start a new "chapter" in her life.

Leona Lewis has split from Modest! Management.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ hitmaker has been nurtured by the company since she won talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2006 but has now chosen to amicably split from the company and start a new "chapter" in her life.

Leona confirmed in a statement: "I greatly enjoyed my time working with Modest! They played an important role in my career and I’ll always be grateful. I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my career."

A spokesperson for the company added: "We were very proud to have Leona on the Modest! roster and of everything she has achieved. We wish her the best."

Although Modest! helped Leona gain global success and record-breaking sales since she signed with them over six years ago, her latest single ‘Lovebird’ only sold 600 copies in the UK, meaning it didn’t even make the top 200 singles chart.

Other ‘X Factor’ artists to have recently left the management company, who also handle Olly Murs and JLS, are 2008 winner Alexandra Burke and former contestants Stacey Solomon and Rebecca Ferguson.
