Duchess Catherine has been named one of Britain’s ideal mayors.

The 31-year-old royal – who is expecting her first child with Prince William – has been voted one of the celebrities people would most like to see take control over their city along with other notable figures such as Sir David Attenborough, David Beckham and Simon Cowell.

They survey – which was conducted by SimCity, a video game which allows players to run their own cities – asked 1,000 pollsters which public figure they’d most like to run their city, and the duchess was the seventh most popular answer.

Nature expert and TV presenter Sir David Attenborough topped the poll, followed by ‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy Clarkson and former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone.

Catherine placed ahead of ‘This Morning’ presenter Holly Willoughby and reality stars Katie Price and Rylan Clark.

As well as picking their ideal mayor, the research revealed that British citizens were concerned with the need to regenerate high streets in their local city with more independent retail outlets.

The duchess and William were also recently voted the most inspiring celebrity couple in Britain in a survey to mark Valentine’s Day.

SimCity launches in the UK on 8th March 2013.
