William and Kate named most inspirational couple

Prince William and Duchess Catherine have been named Britain’s most inspirational couple in a Valentine’s Day poll, beating David and Victoria Beckham.

The royal couple – who married in April 2011 and are expecting their first child together later this year – were voted the nation’s best loved celebrity couple in a poll conducted to mark Valentine’s Day (02.14.13), while William’s grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and his father Prince Charles and stepmother Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall also made the top ten.

Shakila Ahmed of Travelodge, which commissioned the poll, said: ”It’s the first time we have seen three generations of royal couples make the top ten listing of most inspiring romantic couples.

”This year’s listing reveals that Britons are looking up to established couples in a solid relationship as role modes, for inspiration to enhance their romantic relationship.”

The queen and Philip placed third on the list, while Charles and Camilla appeared at number nine.

William, 30, and Catherine, 31, beat David and Victoria Beckham, who placed second, as well as other celebrity couples such as Beyonce and Jay-Z , and US president Barack Obama and wife Michelle.
