Justin Timberlake’s visual record

Justin Timberlake called his new album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ after a friend said it was "music that you can see" when they visited him in the studio.

Justin Timberlake thinks people can "see" the music on his new album.

The ‘Suit & Tie’ singer called his third album, set for release in March, ‘The 20/20 Experience’ after a comment one of his friends made when they visited him in the studio.

He told US radio host Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM show: "I was playing some of the stuff for my friends and they would come in and out of the studio and I’d say, ‘What do you think of this?’ And my best friend said, ‘This is music that you can see,’ and for some reason that stuck with me."

Justin starting making the album last June with producer and rapper Timbaland and they wrote over twenty songs in twenty days, completing most of the record before Justin’s marriage to Jessica Biel in Italy last October.

Justin, 31, also told how ‘The 20/20 Experience’ has similarities to his last album, 2006’s ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’

He said: "We touched on the last album with the interludes and the piece that connect the song to another song. We’ve really gone deep on that part of the process.

"For instance, when you’re putting out a song like ‘Suit & Tie,’ it’s kind of two different things happening at the same time. There aren’t many records that are both Dance and R&B on the radio."

Justin is performing at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (10.02.13), and is expected to play tracks from his new album.
