Duchess Catherine attends royal lunch

Britain’s Duchess Catherine – who is pregnant with her first child – put her recent bout of acute morning sickness behind her to attend the royal family’s Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace yesterday (19.12.12).

Britain’s Duchess Catherine put her recent health problems behind her to attend the royal family’s Christmas lunch yesterday (19.12.12).

The 30-year-old brunette – who is currently expecting her first child with husband Prince William – showed she had made a full recovery from her bout of acute morning sickness by looking glowing as she arrived for the annual bash at Buckingham Palace.

The duchess – who is also known as her maiden name of Kate Middleton – arrived in a separate car to her husband William, who caught a ride with his cousin Lord Linley.

However, the couple were later seen being driven away together.

The lunch is hosted every year by Queen Elizabeth to ensure those family members she doesn’t have enough room for at her Sandringham estate over Christmas still get a chance to celebrate in style.

Other members of the royal family to attend the lunch included Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

One high-profile guest who was missing was Prince Harry as he is currently serving on the frontline in Afghanistan.

After the lunch, the queen was expected to leave for Sandringham, in Norfolk, for an extended Christmas break with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

She will be joined by other members of the royal family over the weekend.
