The Wanted get high on I Found You

The Wanted like people to think "what the f**k is that?" when they first hear their new single, I Found you.

The Wanted like people to think "what the f**k is that?" when they first hear their new single.

The boy band’s Tom Parker admits the high vocals in the chorus to ‘I Found You’ are surprising, but once fans get in the to "vibe" of the track, they like it.

He told The Sun newspaper: "It’s a bit different, isn’t it? A lot of people have said it sounds like Scissor Sisters or the Bee Gees on the chorus.

"The first listen everyone is like, ‘What the f*** is that?’ then you get into the vibe. Not everyone likes it but we don’t want to stick to one thing. All our songs are quite different."

The 24-year-old singer added the high notes are sung by band mates Max George and Siva Kaneswaran, who find it easiest to reach them.

He added: "Max and Siva take that on. I was reading a review the other day which gave it one star and said we’d ‘injected helium’ into our scrotums.

"For them it’s the easiest song we’ve done. It’s harder to belt out a big note than for them to go into falsetto."

The Wanted – which also includes Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness – are managed by Scooter Braun, who also manages Justin Bieber and South Korean rapper PSY, and Tom says the first time he heard the latter’s huge worldwide hit ‘Gangnam Style’, he thought it was a joke.

He said: "I was round [Scooter’s house] over six months ago having a barbecue, he showed me a YouTube clip of the song and I said, ‘Are you having a laugh?’ He said, ‘It’ll be huge’ but I didn’t believe him. He’s a clever guy."
