The Remparts have done it. They are finally QMJHL champions for the first time since 1976. They defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 5-4 on Sunday to win the final series in six games.

The Remparts pulled off the feat with two late goals. One to tie the game, the other to take the lead with 58 seconds remaining.

The Remparts didn’t have it easy. Until they scored those two late goals, they never had the lead in the game.
This is not the end for the Remparts. They will face the Seattle Thunderbirds, the Kamloops Blazers and the winner of the final series between the Peterborough Petes and the London Knights in the Memorial Cup.

James Malatesta won the Guy-Lafleur Trophy awarded to the most valuable player of the playoffs.
Former QMJHL commissioner Gilles Courteau was on hand to present the trophy, which now bears his name.
