Victoria Beckham felt "relieved" when her New York Fashion Week show was over yesterday (09.09.12).

The singer-turned-designer showcased her spring/summer 2013 collection at The New York Public Library and she admitted she was pleased when it had finished because she had been worrying about it beforehand.

She told The Times newspaper: "I think I’m just relieved it’s over. I still find it so nerve-wracking. I wanted to use the same aesthetic as I always have, but apply it in a different way. I’ve also been doing a lot of in-store events in different department stores and boutiques. It has been really interesting to listen to what the customer wants, and I think that first-hand knowledge has given me a bit more confidence to take each next step."

Victoria’s collection featured tailoring and separates for the first time as well as her famed body-hugging dresses and the mother-of-four says moving on from just evening dresses was something she had wanted to do for a long time.

She said: "I focused on separates rather than dresses because there’s a lot more to think about, and I wanted to challenge myself. Tailoring is so difficult, and I am incredibly particular about shoulders, so it has taken me a long time to come up with a perfect jacket."

US Vogue editor Anna Wintour was in the front row, as was Victoria’s husband David and after the triumphant show, the couple and their 14-month-old daughter, Harper, went out for lunch to celebrate.
