(Relaxnews) – With earnings of $32 million in fifteen countries, the action movie led by an all-star cast leapt to the top of the international box office for the weekend of August 26, according to the Rentrak institute.
Sly Stallone’s The Expendables 2 surged past The Dark Knight Rises in the global rankings. The latter grossed $22.45 million across 63 countries, pushing its total earnings around the world to $942 million.
The spy thriller The Bourne Legacy came in third, with $18.68 globally. It was a tough battle for fourth place between Total Recall and Brave, which respectively raked in $15.65 million and $15.13 million with Total Recall scoring first place in Australia, and Brave taking the top spot in in the UK this weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
