Taiwan’s China Airlines boosts Auckland flights

China Airlines will extend the flight route to Auckland.

(TAIPEI-AFP) – Taiwan’s leading carrier China Airlines said Monday it will boost its service from Taipei to Auckland, introducing daily flights from October in a bid to tap New Zealand’s growing tourism market.

China Airlines, which currently offers four flights to Sydney per week, will extend the flight route to Auckland starting October 28, the company said.

This comes on top of three weekly flights to Auckland on an existing route from Taipei via Brisbane, it said.

"New Zealand’s tourism market has been rising steadily and the extension of the flights from Sydney to Auckland will enable travellers to have more options," a China Airlines official said.

Founded in 1959, China Airlines operates a fleet of 68 aircraft and flies to 80 destinations in 28 countries.
