First-ever ‘Top Chef: The Cruise’ to sail in April

(Relaxnews) – From this week, Top Chef fans and foodies can buy tickets to attend the first-ever Top Chef: The Cruise, a four-night cruise from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico, taking place between April 11 and 15.

The cruise, organized by Bravo Media, Celebrity Cruises, Magical Elves and Rose Tours, will be hosted by judges and chefs from the US version of Top Chef, including Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons, two of the show’s main stars. Also on board will be past contestants of the TV shows Top Chef, Top Chef Masters and Top Chef: Just Desserts.

As part of the itinerary, guests will have the opportunity to participate in events such as "quickfire" cooking demonstrations and challenges and a Q&A session with Colicchio and Simmons.

The culinary voyage will take place on the recently renovated Celebrity Constellation ship from Celebrity Cruise Line, with a capacity for about 2,000 passengers. The ship amenities include an Italian-style steakhouse, a wine bar, a martini bar and a spa. For single Top Chef fans, the cruise has a program to match single travelers with same-sex roommates.

Prices run from $699 per person (based on four people stateroom) to $3,499 per person for the penthouse (based on four people stateroom).

This is not the first time a theme cruise for foodies has been organized. Food Network at Sea organized an 11-day cruise throughout the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic in 2011. The voyage was hosted by chef Anne Burrell, host of Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef.
