Pete Doherty and Carl Barat writing together again

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are planning to write tracks together again, and may head to Thailand to do so.

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are writing together again.

The Libertines rockers – who reformed the group for a handful of shows in 2010, five years after they split due to Pete’s drug addiction – are planning to head to Thailand to work on new material.

Speaking days after he was thrown out of a Thai rehab clinic, Pete – who is now based in Paris, France – said: "I’m just going home, since I got back from Thailand I haven’t been home, just lurking in London. I need to go home to put my feet up.

"I spoke to Carl last night and he’s going to come out to Paris tomorrow and maybe we’ll go back out to Thailand together and do some writing."

Pete also revealed he has been penning new songs himself.

Asked if he had made use of a guitar he had been loaned, he said: "I broke a string. [But before that] I did actually, yeah. I got a little idea."

Following his stint in rehab, Pete is looking forward to performing live at European festivals, though he was apprehensive about singing in front of a potentially-difficult crowd.

He told online TV show Hernu & Harris: "I’ve got a festival coming up in Belgium, they’re not too bad there, they’re not as rude as the French but a bit more reserved I think is an accurate description.

"You’ll have a crowd in Belgium that seems to be a little bit older, with their arms folded and an ‘impress me’ look on their face. Afterwards they tell you it was good but during, they’re not [impressed]."
