Lauren Conrad hopes her accessories range can teach people the importance of "environmental sustainability".
The 26-year-old fashion designer – who has unveiled a range of 20 travel and cosmetic accessories made out of recycled plastic – believes the collection can help to drive change among her many fans.
She said: "I wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem.
"As a designer, I hope that my choices can raise visibility around the importance of environmental sustainability and start to drive change with my fans. And what a great way to reuse those bottles we recycle every week."
Lauren – who rose to fame on MTV reality series ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’ – says a particular favorite piece in the range is a cover for her curling iron she can use while it is still hot.
She said: "So many times I have had to leave the hotel and rush to the airport but my curling iron was still hot.
"Now I don’t have to wait for it to cool – the bags can withstand 500 degrees of heat."
