Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan duet called off

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s live performance of ‘Especially For You’ will not happen, after the event where they were supposed to perform, Hit Factory Live, was cancelled.

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s performance of ‘Especially For You’ has been called off.

The Australian singers – who were once briefly a couple – were due to perform their 1988 single for the first time ever at the Hit Factory Live event in London tomorrow (11.07.12), but it has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions in Hyde Park.

The concert organisers said in a statement: "Following the severe and unprecedented weather conditions across the country the site was declared unfit this morning to host the concert.

"The decision was made following full consultation with all of the relevant authorities and the safety advisory group.

"The potential risk to staff and music fans was too great for the event to go ahead."

Wireless festival was held at the same venue last weekend, and saw concertgoers battle rain and particularly muddy conditions.

In order to get the park ready for the Hard Rock Calling festival, which starts on Friday (13.07.12), the site is being laid with wood chips to thicken the mud and make it safe for fans.

The Hit Factory Live event was set up to celebrate the work of songwriters Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman, who had hundreds of hits in the 80s and early 90s.

The bill for the one-off concert also included Steps, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Dead Or Alive, Sinitta, Brother Beyond, Dead Or Alive and Sonia.
