Rihanna plays first show since grandmother’s funeral

Rihanna gave her first live performance since her grandmother’s funeral this weekend (08.07.12) at the Barclaycard Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park.

Rihanna gave her first live performance since her grandmother’s death last night (08.07.12).

The ‘You Da One’ singer took to the stage at the Barclaycard Wireless Festival at London’s Hyde Park and gave a standout performance just two days after attending her grandmother’s funeral in New York.

Rihanna put on a brave face despite heavy downpours and joked to the crowd: "Thanks for staying to watch me in the rain… Only in London would you guys stay to watch this show!"

She later tweeted: "#wireless‬ I’m still bugging about how awesome the UK waz 2’nt (sic)."

The Barbados-born singer flew to the UK after attending her beloved grandmother Clara ‘Dolly’ Braithwaite’s funeral on Friday (06.07.12) dispelling rumours she would pull out of Wireless after cancelling a performance at Spain’s Rock In Rio festival. She had also been criticised for miming and appearing drunk on stage in Sweden shortly after Dolly’s passing.

However, at Wireless the 24-year-old star didn’t disappoint, performing hits including ‘Only Girl (In The World)’, ‘S&M’ and ‘Umbrella’.

Earlier in the day Jessie J, Cher Lloyd and Rizzle Kicks were among performers, while on Saturday (07.07.12) Drake, Nicki Minaj and Example all played excellent sets.

‘X Factor’ judge Tulisa Contostavlos ruffled feathers over the weekend when she angrily dedicated a cover of David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’ to her ex-boyfriend, who she has accused of leaking her sex tape online.

Tulisa flashed her middle finger to the crowd and shouted: "This is to my d***head ex-boyfriend, Justin f***ing Edwards!"
