Beastie Boys’ Mike D pays tribute to late band mate Adam Horovitz

Beastie Boys’ singer Mike D has paid tribute to his late band mate Adam Yauch on Facebook following his death from cancer.

Beastie Boys rapper Mike Diamond has paid tribute to late bandmate Adam Yauch.

Mike admitted he has been in a "blur of deep emotions" since 47-year-old Adam’s passing on Friday (04.05.2012) after a three-year battle with cancer in his parotid gland and a lymph node.

He wrote on the group’s Facebook page: "I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed [blogged] every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much.

"He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humour can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam."

Fellow band mate Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz first voiced his tribute to Yauch – known as MCA – on Sunday night (06.05.2012), posting on the band’s blog: "I’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him thank you (sic)."

Madonna, Jay-Z , Justin Timberlake, Coldplay and Eminem were among other big names to pay tribute to the late star in either words or with performances.
